What is the Student Fee?
The Student Fee is the total amount paid by the student towards the qualification price.
What is the Full Fee?
The Full Fee is applicable to students who are not eligible for the NSW government subsidy.
What is the Subsidsed Fee?
If you’re eligible for NSW government-subsidised training under Smart and Skilled, you pay only a portion of the qualification price (known as the “Student Fee”). The balance of the qualification price (known as the “Subsidy”) is paid by the NSW Government directly to the training provider.
Who is eligible for Subsidised Fees?
You may be eligible for the subsidised fee if you:
- are aged 15 years or older
- have left school
- live or work in New South Wales
- are an Australian citizen, permanent
resident, humanitarian visa holder
or New Zealand citizen
What is a First Qualification?
The First Qualification applies to students
undertaking their first post school qualification.
What is a Second or Further Qualification?
The Second or Further Qualification
applies to students undertaking a second
or further post school qualification.
Do previous qualifications affect eligibility?
No, previous qualifications do not affect eligibility,
but may affect the Student Fee.
What is a Concession Fee?
Concession Fees are discounted fees for
disadvantaged people who are studying for
qualifications up to and including Certificate IV.
Who is eligible for a Concession Fee?
They are available to eligible students who:
- are receiving a specified Australian Government welfare benefit or allowance
- at the time of their enrolment (e.g. age
pension, carer payment, Newstart allowance, Veterans’ Affairs pension, single parenting payment or youth allowance) are the dependants of a recipient of specified Australian Government welfare benefits or allowances.
What are the fees for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Fees for RPL applications are calculated on a case by case basis and may be reduced due to credit transfer. The base price for RPL applications is:
- Certificate II to Certificate IV qualifications $1,500^
- Diploma to Advanced Diploma qualifications $2,000^
