Applications now open for Merivale’s Peter Doyle led chef apprenticeship program
Applications for the second intake of Merivale’s Peter Doyle led chef apprenticeship program developed with Allara Learning are now open.
The Merivale Apprenticeship School is a first if its kind chef apprenticeship program led by one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs, Peter Doyle. The innovative and forward-thinking program is specifically designed to inspire, guide and mentor the next generation of chefs, and will see Doyle work one-on-one with apprentices, with only ten students in the classroom at one time.
Along with Doyle’s practical classes, students will put their skills into practice in the kitchens of Merivale venues, with access to over 70 bars and restaurants and a diverse range of cuisines. Merivale’s executive chefs like Dan Hong, Danielle Alvarez and Jordan Toft will be brought in to teach their areas of speciality and work with their head chefs to manage and mentor apprentices in their venues each week.
On completion of the course apprentices will achieve a formal qualification, gaining a SIT30816 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. This opportunity will provide participants with a full-time role at one of Merivale’s iconic venues.
