Posted on October 17, 2019
The first Journey to Success program run in partnership with Marriott International has concluded with fantastic results.
The Journey to Success program was developed to help Indigenous and disadvantaged youth by providing skills training, employment opportunities and long-term careers in the hospitality industry.
The course involved a blend of practical skills training and on-site work experience, focusing on customer service, teamwork, conflict handling, and safety and hygiene. Mentor support and guidance was provided throughout training to build participants’ skills, confidence and resilience.
Twenty-three participants have successfully finished the program, which had an impressive 82% completion rate. Nine of these students have already been offered employment with the global industry leader and will continue training to work towards achieving their SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality.
Congratulations to all our students involved, we wish you the best of luck in your hospitality careers!
