The Fiddler nominated in ‘Heart of the Community’ category at AHA NSW Awards

Congratulations to our client The Fiddler for their nomination in the ‘Heart of the Community’ category at the Australian Hotels Association NSW Awards 2019.

The Fiddler have received their nomination for their outstanding contribution to the local community through their continuing support for sporting clubs, businesses and charities.

In addition to their notable community support, the nomination also celebrates The Fiddler as an inclusive workplace, and their commitment to upskill and employ local jobseekers through their pre-employment training initiatives.

Earlier this year, The Fiddler were awarded ‘Most Inclusive Employer’ at the Local Business Awards for their Futures Program, which assists those with special needs and disabilities in securing ongoing paid employment.

The Futures Program provides jobseekers with the skills, hands-on training, and work experience required to move into fulfilling employment in the hospitality industry. Courses are delivered by Allara Learning’s professional trainers through the JobReady program.

Over the past year, The Fiddler have employed 20 jobseekers through the Futures Program, five of which identify as having special needs or living with a disability. To date the program has generated over 38,000 hours of employment for jobseekers.

The Fiddler continues to provide job opportunities to the local community, with ongoing JobReady programs being run with Allara Learning.

Finalists for the AHA Awards will be announced on 23 September 2019.
