Schedule 1 _ Student code of conduct

Introduction and Purpose

This Student Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all students enrolled with Allara Learning, including those undertaking training through Tactical Training Group Pty Ltd (TTG) and W G Learning Pty Ltd (WGL). It is designed to ensure a safe, respectful, inclusive, and productive learning environment for everyone, aligning with the Standards for RTOs 2025, and the principles upheld by vocational training regulatory authorities across the ACT, NSW, and QLD governments.

By enrolling with Allara Learning, you agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct, our policies and procedures, and all relevant legislative requirements.

General Conduct and Respect

Allara Learning is committed to providing a fair, equitable, and inclusive learning environment (as per our Access, Equity and Enrolment Policy). As a student, you are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect: Show courtesy and consideration to all staff, fellow students, third-party partners, and visitors. This includes respecting diverse backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and opinions.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment: Contribute to an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and free from disruption. Allara Learning is committed to providing a learning environment free from harassment, discrimination, and bullying, and one that does not pose any Workplace Health and Safety risks. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
  • Zero-tolerance for discrimination and harassment: Allara Learning has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, bullying, victimisation, or unlawful discrimination based on protected attributes (e.g., age, disability, race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, cultural or linguistic background, marital status, or pregnancy). Any such incidents will be addressed promptly and confidentially through our Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure.
  • Communicate respectfully: Use appropriate language and tone in all interactions, whether in person, online, or in written communication.

Academic Integrity

Maintaining academic integrity is paramount to the credibility of your qualification and Allara Learning's certification. You are expected to:

  • Be honest in all assessments: Submit your own original work for all assessment tasks.
  • Avoid plagiarism: Do not present someone else's work, ideas, or words as your own without proper acknowledgment. This includes content from books, articles, websites, or other students. All sources must be appropriately referenced. Plagiarism is a serious offence.
  • Respect copyright and intellectual property: Do not copy, reproduce, publish, perform, or communicate copyrighted material without permission from the copyright owner, unless explicitly permitted by law (as outlined in our Intellectual Property and Copyright Policy). This applies to all learning materials, software, and other resources.
  • Do not cheat or collude: Do not engage in any form of cheating, including sharing answers, using unauthorized materials during assessments, or colluding with other students on individual tasks.
  • Ensure accurate information: Provide true and accurate information during enrolment and throughout your studies.

Attendance and Participation

Active engagement is crucial for successful completion of your training product. You are expected to:

  • Attend scheduled training sessions: Participate in all required online or face-to-face training sessions as per your training schedule.
  • Engage actively: Participate in learning activities, discussions, and practical tasks.
  • Meet deadlines: Submit assessment tasks and other required documentation by the specified due dates. If you anticipate difficulties, communicate with your trainer/assessor in advance.
  • Notify absences: Inform Allara Learning in advance if you are unable to attend a scheduled session or meet a deadline.

Use of Facilities and Resources

You are expected to use Allara Learning's facilities and resources responsibly:

  • Care for property: Treat all Allara Learning property, including classrooms, equipment, and digital resources (such as the LMS - aXcelerate), with care and respect.
  • Appropriate use of IT systems: Use Allara Learning's IT systems and internet access only for legitimate educational purposes. Do not engage in activities that are illegal, unethical, or disruptive.

Health and Safety

Allara Learning is committed to providing a safe learning environment. You are expected to:

  • Maintain a safe environment: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and instructions provided by Allara Learning staff. Report any unsafe conditions, practices, or incidents promptly to your trainer.
  • Drugs and Alcohol: No participant is to attend training programs while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The use of such substances may impair your capacity to learn safely and efficiently. This policy does not prohibit the use of prescription pharmaceuticals; however, you should check with your doctor that your prescription does not impair your study performance or put you or others at risk.
  • Working with Children: If you are under the age of 18, you are expected to understand that Allara Learning complies with all Federal and State Working with Children legislation.

Fees and Financial Obligations

As outlined in our Fees, Charges and Refunds Policy, you are responsible for understanding and meeting your financial obligations:

  • Understand fees: Be aware of the total course fees, additional charges, payment plans, and refund conditions applicable to your enrolment. This information is provided prior to enrolment.
  • Timely payments: Ensure all agreed fees and charges are paid by their due dates.
  • Consequences of non-payment: Understand that non-payment of fees may result in withdrawal of access to the course or refusal to provide certification.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Allara Learning is committed to protecting your personal information (as per our Privacy and Personal Information Policy). You are expected to:

  • Respect privacy: Respect the privacy of other students and staff members. Do not share personal information about others without their explicit consent.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding any sensitive information you may encounter during your studies, particularly in workplace-based learning or discussions.

Work Placement Obligations (if applicable)

If your training product includes a Work Experience Placement (WEP), you are expected to:

  • Attend and Notify: Attend with the assigned workplace on agreed dates and times, and notify both the workplace supervisor and RTO work placement coordinator of any absences.
  • Perform Duties: Perform duties to the best of your ability, comply with directions, and maintain appropriate dress and behaviour.
  • Report Incidents: Promptly report any personal injury or property damage.
  • Understand Guidelines: Read and understand the specific WEP Guidelines provided for your placement.

Compliance with Policies and Legislation

  • Adhere to Allara Learning policies: You are expected to be familiar with and comply with all Allara Learning policies and procedures, including those referenced in this document.
  • Comply with laws: You must comply with all relevant Commonwealth, State, and Territory laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination legislation, privacy laws, and vocational education and training regulations.

Breaches of Conduct

Failure to comply with this Student Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which could include:

  • Verbal or written warnings.
  • Suspension from training.
  • Withdrawal from your training product.
  • Reporting to relevant authorities where required by law.

Specific circumstances that may lead to termination include, but are not limited to:

  • Breach of the Drug and Alcohol conduct obligations.
  • Sexual harassment of another participant or a staff member.
  • Repeated Plagiarism.
  • Misconduct that may place another participant or staff member in fear of their safety.

All disciplinary actions will be handled in accordance with principles of natural justice and procedural fairness, as outlined in our Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure.
