Marriott and Allara Learning launch program for indigenous & disadvantaged youth in hospitality

Marriott International and Allara Learning announce the introduction of a new program to give Indigenous & disadvantaged youth the opportunity to launch a career in the hospitality industry

Sydney, NSW: Allara Learning is delighted to announce the launch of the new Journey to Success program in partnership with global industry leader, Marriott International.

 Through the Journey to Success program, the objective of both Allara Learning and Marriott International is to help Indigenous and disadvantaged youth by providing skills training, employment opportunities and long-term careers in the hospitality industry.

 Trainers and mentors from Allara Learning and Marriott International will help to build participants’ skills, confidence and resilience. The program will include a blend of practical skills training and on-site work experience. Training will focus on customer service, teamwork, conflict handling, and safety and hygiene.

 The first program will kick-off in August 2019. Marriott International hotels participating in the inaugural program include: Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay, Courtyard by Marriott Sydney-North Ryde, Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection, Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park and Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.

 Successful participants will be offered job opportunities with Marriott International and continue with their training towards gaining a SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality.
