Overview
This course is for Queensland students only.
The course provides the mandatory certification in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) required for workers in Queensland's liquor and gaming industries.
This dual-focused course provides essential knowledge for staff working in licensed venues that offer both alcohol service and gambling services (such as pubs, clubs, and casinos). The training aims to ensure staff act responsibly, comply with relevant legislation, and contribute to a safe and accountable environment for patrons.

Who is this course for?
This combined Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG/RSG) certification is mandatory for individuals working in a venue that serves alcohol and is licensed to operate gaming machines or other gambling services.
The course is required for, but not limited to, staff working in the following roles:
- Licensee or Manager (of a venue that serves alcohol).
- Licensee (of a full hotel that operates gaming machines).
- Secretary (of a registered club that serves alcohol and/or operates gaming machines).
- Staff who sell, supply, or serve alcohol on the licensed premises.
- Staff whose duties include any activity involving gaming machines on the premises. This typically includes:
- Staff who patrol or serve in the gaming machine area.
- Staff who are involved in paying out winnings to patrons.
- Staff who perform crowd control or bouncer activities on the licensed premises.
- RSA marshals, if they are required in the venue by law or licence condition.
Course plan
This module covers the nationally recognised unit of competency, SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol.
This unit addresses the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell, serve or supply alcohol.
Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is sold, served or supplied, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. This unit therefore applies to any workplace where alcohol is sold, served or supplied, including all types of hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries.

This module covers the nationally recognised unit of competency, SITHGAM022 Provide responsible gambling services.
The unit addresses the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide responsible gambling services, and to assist those customers who may be at risk of or are already experiencing harm from gambling.
Responsible gambling services must be provided wherever gambling activities are undertaken. In the hospitality industry, the gambling environment is usually referred to as the gaming area and is provided in a range of venues, such as hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and casinos.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this shourt course bundle, participants will have the knowledge and understanding required to:
- Comply with Legal Obligations: Understand and adhere to both liquor laws and gaming legislation relevant to the operation of licensed premises.
- Promote Responsible Alcohol Consumption:
- Develop strategies for harm minimization related to alcohol consumption.
- Ensure minors do not access alcohol through effective ID checks and managing secondary sales/supply.
- Identify and assess alcohol-affected customers and apply appropriate procedures for refusing service to intoxicated persons.
- Ensure Responsible Conduct of Gambling:
- Act responsibly when dealing with patrons using a variety of gambling services, including gaming machines, table games, keno, and TAB.
- Utilize the underpinning knowledge necessary to operate within the regulatory framework of the gaming industry.
National recognition
Upon successful completion of the training and assessment, you will receive a statement of attainment. This statement of attainment holds national recognition and is valued by industry and educational institutions, both in Australia and globally.

Course & Certification Fee
The fee for the course is $55.
Re-enrolment Policy
The maximum enrolment period for this course is 4 weeks. If you are unable to complete the course within this timeframe, a $30 re-enrolment fee will be required to extend your access.
This course has a fee of $55 payable at the time of enrolment via credit card. You must enter the credit card payment details to finalise your enrolment application.
Note: Certificates cannot be issued if fees remain unpaid.
Online Delivery
The course is a 100% online course. This means you will complete all training and assessment via self-paced eLearning and assessment via the Allara Learning Student Portal.
The course includes self-paced eLearning modules, online quizzes, and scenario based role play (video) assesments.
Through the Student Portal you will be able to:
- Access your learning materials and assessments
- Undertake and complete assessments
- Contact your trainers and assessors
- Receive feedback on your assessment outcomes
- Access a wide range of support materials and resources
Practical assessment requirement
For this course, students must complete several scenario-based case studies. Please note that some of the scenarios require a video recording of your response. All video recordings must be a live capture using your digital device's camera. When you begin a recording task, you will be prompted to grant access to your camera. Pre-recorded videos cannot be uploaded.
Timeframe
You will have a maximum enrolment period of 4 weeks to complete all course requirements. If the course is not completed within this 4-week window, a $30 re-enrolment fee will apply to continue.The course is a 100% online course. This means you will complete the development of knowledge and skills through E-Learning.
To access learning materials and complete the assessment tasks, you will need to have access to a digital device with internet access. Your device will need to have a digital camera and an appropriate web browser (Chrome or Firefox is recommended).
Practical assessment requirement
For this course, students must complete several scenario-based case studies. Please note that some of the scenarios require a video recording of your response. All video recordings must be a live capture using your digital device's camera. When you begin a recording task, you will be prompted to grant access to your camera. Pre-recorded videos cannot be uploaded.
Note: It is highly recommended that the course be completed via a computer (desktop or laptop) using a single browser. If you complete via a mobile device or change browsers your progress and/or completion of the individual course modules may not be saved.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
English language requirements
In order to successfully enrol in this course, you must have a level of proficiency in written English, allowing you to engage in the course materials and content, and ensuring you can undertake the variety of assessments.
Yes. This course is a supplementary short course and is exempt from the requirements of the ESOS Act. This means that international students on a subclass 500 Student Visa (or equivalent), are eligible to enrol even if the course is not registered on CRICOS.
As this is a work-based course, please keep the following in mind:
- This course is designed to provide specific skills required for employment in Australia.
- Any work-based assessment components undertaken as part of this course will count toward your student visa work limitation (typically 48 hours per fortnight during study periods).
- All international students studying with an Australian RTO must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before a nationally accredited certificate can be issued. If you do not have one, you can create it at usi.gov.au.

You will need to provide a range of personal details and must supply a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have a USI, create one here before proceeding with enrolment.
At the end of the form, you will be required to upload a supporting document to verify your identity. Acceptable forms of evidence include any one of the following:
- Drivers Licence
- Proof of age card
- Birth certificate
- Passport
Before submitting your form, you will need to make payment for the course fees via credit card, then review and accept (agree) to the terms and conditions of enrolment by digitally signing the form.
You will receive an email from axcelerate@allaralearning.com.au. This email asks you to create your student portal account. Click the ‘Create your Student Portal Account’ link in the body of the email and follow the prompts to create your student user account.
Once you have created your account, you can login to the ‘Student Portal’ and begin your course.
Click on the Responsible Services for Hospitality (RSA & RSG) Learning plan from your student portal dashboard to begin.

Yes, this course is accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for two units of competency:
- SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol.
- SITHGAM022 Provide responsible gambling services.
Upon successful completion of this course, your nationally recognised statement of attainment will be emailed directly to you. It can take up to 48 hours after assessments are marked for certification to be issued and sent. Please provide an accurate email address at enrolment to ensure you receive the certification.
Note: Certificates cannot be issued if fees remain unpaid.
A refund of course fees paid for a short course may apply if a request for refund is made in writing prior to the course commencement date where the course commencement date is the earlier of the date you commence any of the learning content or the start date of the course.
Fees are non-refundable if you have already accessed learning content to commence the course.
